The Dorothy House User Advisory Group (UAG) is run in partnership with Evolving Communities, a community interest company which specialises in research, evaluation and public engagement. It helps local people and organisations shape the way health and care services are run in their communities. It also supports the work of Healthwatch Gloucestershire and Healthwatch Somerset.
The UAG comprises of 12 trained volunteers and provides an opportunity for those people who have used Dorothy House Hospice Care services (this includes patients and/or their family members and unpaid carers, general health and care service users, those interested in end of life care and those interested in promoting the voice of users more generally) to express their open and honest opinions. The outcome of its discussions and engagement are fed back to Dorothy House Hospice Care to influence service development, enhance the quality of services and promote community engagement.
This report outlines the UAG’s activity in the year 2017-18 and their recommendations. Dorothy House will use this information to help us to shape our services and maintain their quality.
