The Big Dorothy House Coffee Morning

It’s time to put that caffeine addiction to good use! This September, we want as many people as possible to join us for the BIG Dorothy House Coffee Morning. It’s the perfect opportunity to gather your family, friends and colleagues together to enjoy a delightful cuppa and a slice of something delicious!

We’re calling on our wonderful supporters to get involved and host their very own Coffee Morning – have a party in the house, the garden, at the office, school, or even in the hairdressers! The official event will be taking place on Friday 23 September, but you can hold yours at any time over the month. Every drop you brew and penny you collect will help care for patients and their loved ones.

You don’t need a reminder of how challenging the last 24 months have been for all of us. As a charity, we rely heavily on fundraising, and Dorothy House Coffee Mornings are such an important event for helping us raise the money we need to support our services.

Better still – they’re an easy way for you to support our work; there’s no training, no trekking, and no special footwear required! But you will have to lift a finger (maybe your pinkie if you’ve decided to have a cup of tea!).

Although it’s in the name, there’s no need to hold your event in the morning. Afterall, coffee is delicious all day long! Pick a time and place that’ll suit you and your guests, and who knows, you might like to go rogue and serve tea or prosecco!

Coffee Morning top tips

• Choose your date and time
• Invite as many people as you can
• Get help with baking, making or faking!
• Think about some add-ons: hold a raffle, have extra cakes for purchase or sell some bric-a-brac
• Raise the dough: make sure your collection pot is noticeable and put suggested donations on treats and drinks if that might help
• Celebrate: after your Coffee Morning, message your guests and let them know how much they’ve helped raise for Dorothy House!

Alongside that warm, fuzzy feeling of knowing your event will be supporting people in your community, we’re also throwing in a few extras as a little thank you. Every person who registers for the Dorothy House Coffee Morning will be entered into our prize draw to win a traditional afternoon tea for two at The Pump Room in Bath. Not only that, but the Big Coffee Morning that raises the most money will win a luxurious champagne afternoon tea for two at Bishopstrow House in Warminster!

Whenever or however you choose to host your Coffee Morning, every last sip and every last crumb will help to raise money supporting patients and their loved ones. It’s the best excuse to get everyone together for a cuppa and a catch up!
