Visiting our Winsley site during COVID-19

Posted by David Jaquin, on June 10 2020 in: News

To protect our patients and staff we ask that no one visits our Winsley site for any reason if they have:

· High temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
· New, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
· Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

From 10 June, we will now be allowing one close family contact to visit a patient. It will need to be the same person each visit and they will need to wear a face covering at all times.

In exceptional circumstances (where a patient is actively dying) a maximum of 2 people can stay overnight in the room or the same 2 people can visit for 1 hour a day. We will advise these visitors on the relevant PPE as needed.
