As many of you may know, the B3108 road between Winsley and Bradford on Avon is currently closed as Wiltshire Council install a bollard-free shared use path for both pedestrians and cyclists as part of their new active travel schemes. A public engagement exercise showed that local people wanted this scheme and clearly it will help to promote healthier, green travel.

However, the phases of road closure (which last until the beginning of September) may well cause travel issues for some of our patients, families, staff and volunteers in the short term.

Wiltshire Council have advised the following on their website New active travel schemes – Wiltshire Council:

“In emergency situations, emergency service vehicles requiring access through the closure will be accommodated. Traffic management operatives will be on site during working hours to facilitate this.

Outside of working hours, while the road will remain closed to through traffic, a safe route through the works area will be maintained for emergency vehicle use should they require it.”

Please let us know if you have any difficulties in an emergency situation and we will do our best to help you. In terms of routine, non-emergency appointments at Dorothy House Winsley, we apologise for the inconvenience of the diversions.
