I’m Katie, Ward Sister on the Inpatient Unit, with an urgent request on behalf of our entire team here at Dorothy House Hospice Care.

Every year we plan for the money we need to keep our hospice care service the very best it can be. This year, we have been able to invest a little more money in direct nursing care – but we also need to buy new chairs and other items we really need to replace in our patients’ bedrooms. The equipment below is vital to the comfort and dignity of our patients with life-limiting illnesses – and with your support, we can make a huge impact on the quality of life and care we provide, every day of the year.

Katie’s Wish List

I’d like to ask if you could you be one of 100 people to make a donation of £25.90 – enough to buy one of the new chairs that we need? Or, if you felt able, an amazing gift of £49.50 could help us purchase one of the dementia-friendly clock my Wish List.

A gift towards anything on my list would be absolutely wonderful! I hope to place our first orders before Easter and I will be in touch personally to let you know how we’ve got on.

Thank you so much for reading this and huge thanks, in advance, for any gift you feel able to make. The whole team here at Dorothy House is very aware that we can only care for our community through the support we receive from our community.

P.S. Rob Rayner stayed with us last year, for quite a few weeks, while his new house was made ready for him. He’s a lovely guy and we got to know him well. Wonderfully, he’s written about his experience of staying here at the hospice and you can read it here. It’s people like him who are the motivation behind this appeal – because with the right equipment we can make such a huge difference to their lives at the time they need it most. Thank you.
