Our advice line is available, 24 hours a day, for patients, their families and carers, and healthcare professionals, who need immediate medical advice on someone’s care. It is run by experienced nurses who have round-the-clock access to specialist medical advice from our own doctors.
Generally, when the nurse answering your call has listened to your problem they will do one of the following:
- advise you to contact a doctor or nurse who knows you
- give you advice to help with your problem and encourage you to ring again if you need further help.
During office hours (Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm | Sat/Sun 9-5pm) we recommend you contact a professional who is familiar with you and your medical history. This may be your GP, a District Nurse or your Dorothy House Nurse Specialist.
Outside of office hours, please contact the advice line on 0345 0130 555
