Thank you for your interest in our Community Lodges. Dorothy House Hospice Care’s Board of Trustees and Executive Team have taken the decision to close our Lodges in their current form and repurpose their use going forward.
The development of the Community Lodges was funded by a Department of Health grant in 2013 and they have proved popular with those patients who have benefitted from these services.
It is important however that DHHC constantly reviews its services to ensure that the care we offer across the community is effectively prioritised and reaches as many patients, their families and carers as possible.
DHHC has been reviewing the Community Lodges and, after careful consideration, they will close to patients from 22nd December 2015. All staff affected by this change have been informed and assigned to work in other areas of the Charity.
DHHC will be developing a new focus for the Community Lodges. This is likely to be around wellbeing and enablement and will have exciting implications for DHHC staff and its community.
