Working together for better cancer care for patients and their families
A pioneering new collaboration between Dorothy House Hospice Care, Macmillan Cancer Support and Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust aims to improve palliative and end of life care for local cancer patients. This is the first time the organisations have worked together with the common goal of better care and support for people living with life-limiting cancer.
Funded by Macmillan Cancer Support, the partnership has introduced the brand new role of Live Well Partnership Co-ordinator to work across these organisations to provide tailored care for patients who have been diagnosed with secondary or metastatic cancer. This innovative approach will provide a consistent point of support for both patients and their families at an earlier stage, and allow people living with cancer to take an active role in their palliative care plan and enable them to live as well as possible.
