Being diagnosed with a life-limiting illness can be difficult to come to terms with. At Dorothy House, we want to make sure that you get the right support at a time when you need it most.
We have a wide range of specialist services that can help you live day-to-day with your illness. Our highly trained team will be able to structure support that is individual to you and your situation.
There are a fantastic range of activities that you can get involved in across the hospice, catering for many different interests and needs. Have a look at our Group Workshop page and see if there is an activity that takes your fancy.
Our drop-in centres are in the heart of your community and are there to advise and support you, they are also a lifeline for those that may be indirectly affected by a life-limiting illness i.e. carers, family members or friends. The trained and experienced team will be happy to signpost to our services or other local service providers or simply sit down have a coffee and listen.
We may be able to offer you respite at our Inpatient Unit . We provide respite to manage and control difficult symptoms and to give carers a break. The respite can be for up to 6 days and would involve a stay on the unit. After that time you would be discharged back to your home and continue with our community support. Please have a chat with your Nurse Specialist or call our Clinical Coordination Centre on 0345 0130 555 (Monday-Friday, 8-6pm; Saturday-Sunday 9am-5pm).
We are here to help and support you on your journey and will be there for you as long as you need us.
