Teens Bereavement Support Group

Are you 12–18yrs old and have experienced the death of a parent?

We’re a group of teens who’ve experienced the death of a parent and we meet up regularly to chat, catch up and share our experiences. The group is relaxed and informal – it’s not counselling and there’s no expectations to talk.

We meet in person and online: pre-pandemic we’d meet up indoors and outside, chat and eat copious amounts of pizza. Now we Zoom on the first Monday of the month at 7pm and we’re organising some face-to-face activities.

We’ve been working on promoting our schools manifesto. It’s something we wrote to encourage teachers to provide effective bereavement support. Through our experiences, we feel we have a role in showing others how to support us through the death of a parent.

“I started coming because I wanted to meet people who had gone through the same as me”

“Feeling nervous is okay. I felt exactly the same way on my first time at Teens Group. We all know how you feel. It’s a brave step to take, but once you are through the door, it’ll help you and you’ll feel normal.”

You’re invited to join us – we love welcoming new people. For more information get in touch.
