Supporter Care at Dorothy House
At Dorothy House, the care we provide is supported by many different teams of amazing staff and volunteers.
Here we shine a light on our Supporter Care Team and the work they do for the Hospice.
The Supporter Care team
We are the first point of contact for Dorothy House supporters and our role is to ensure that they have a positive experience, whether that be by donating or fundraising for us. We are four members of staff, currently with a team of five volunteers.
We respond to phone calls, emails and in-person queries and donations. We process all of the payments that come in to the Fundraising team via various methods and thank our supporters in a timely manner. We assist fundraisers with resources for events in the community.
Every day is different and we are always busy. We get to interact with our supporters and the rest of the organisation daily, so it keeps things interesting.
We work closely with the Finance Team, reconciling payments with them. We also work with the Digital Team and the Retail Team to maintain accurate records on our database. We run reports from our database to support the whole of the Hospice.
What Supporter Care at Dorothy House really means
Supporter Care means giving Dorothy House supporters the best journey possible during their contact with the Hospice and maintaining that support.
“Just a note to say thank you for following up on my son’s recent birthday fundraiser with a note and certificate. He was so chuffed. A lovely touch. We will continue to support Dorothy House in eternal gratitude for the care shown to my Mum when she left us in 2021. Thanks again!” – supporter.
The support and generosity that we are shown so often is truly appreciated, and makes all the difference to our patients and families, thank you.
