Below we have outlined the cost of care for just some of the services our patients and families can access, but we couldn’t run these without your donations. You can also view some additional service and care costs by downloading our ‘Cost of Care Guide’ below.

Creative Therapies: Mike's story

One of the most popular Day Services is Creative Therapies. In a palliative care setting, art is a powerful and effective way to address the issues that patients and families can face on their journey – these issues can be psychological, social, practical or spiritual.

Mike’s story shares with us how Creative Therapies supported him during his time at the Hospice. During our sessions he met new people and talked to our nurses about any concerns or questions he had.

Spiritual Support: Lyn's story

After being in remission from breast cancer for nine years, Lyn was diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer.

Following support from Dave, our Spiritual Support Lead, Lyn found a new purpose in her life and shares her reflections on her care here at Dorothy House as an inpatient and within the community.

iWantGreatCare quote which reads "My husband received first class care from the care staff during the last couple of weeks of his life at home. All staff members who visited us at home were professional, caring and compassionate. The night staff who sat with him were amazing and the carer who sat with my husband the night before he passed was fantastic"

Your donation will help us care for even more patients and their families when they need it the most.

Not only will it support people at the Hospice at Winsley House, but it also supports your community and those that wish to be cared for at home. Thank you.
