Relaxation recordings

Welcome to our collection of relaxation exercises.

You will find five shorter and three longer guided exercise tracks, which are also available on the Dorothy House podcast. You may prefer the transcripts, particularly if you would like someone to read the relaxation exercises for you. You will also find a piece of relaxing instrumental music, created especially for our listeners at Dorothy House.

For guidance on choosing an exercise and for safety advice, please start with the Introduction track. Please do not listen to the tracks whilst driving or operating machinery. You can read the full collection of transcripts here.

Thank you...

These scripts and tracks were created by our Therapies team, in collaboration with colleagues from across the organisation and different organisations within our community. We would like to express our gratitude to the following:

  • The patients and families who contributed to the project, including the artwork.
  • Coventry Building Society, for their generous donation through their Community Grant and staff fundraising at the Melksham branch.
  • Community radio station From FM and Rupert Kirkham, for donating his time, skills and patience in recording, producing and mastering the CD, and for lending us his voice for the tracks.
  • Morag McLaren and Fay Goodridge for donating their time, and the use of Cooper Hall and its facilities.
