Dorothy House launches new Wellbeing Hub for young people
Dorothy House is proud to announce the launch of its new national Children & Young People’s Wellbeing Hub, a thoughtfully designed digital space created with input from the young people we support.

Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week
Launching to coincide with Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week (9-15 February), the Hub brings together trusted, age-appropriate resources to help children and young people across the UK to explore their emotions, understand grief, and build resilience when someone close to them is living with, or has died from, a life limiting illness.
With one child in every classroom expected to lose a parent or carer before the age of 16, this free Hub aims to support families at a time when compassionate, accessible guidance is most needed.
“We are grateful to all the young people who have helped us create this important resource. We hope that it will provide a safe and supportive space for any children and young people facing the death of a loved one or for those who are already navigating grief.”
Donna Oakes, Children & Families Practitioner – Dorothy House.
A safe, accessible space for children and families
The Children & Young People’s Wellbeing Hub offers:
- Age‑appropriate resources including videos, podcasts, blogs and interactive materials, curated from reliable, research-based bereavement organisations.
- Support for parents, guardians and carers, providing practical tools, conversation guides and specialist advice to help families navigate difficult emotional territory.
- Clear, easy‑to‑navigate sections designed to help users explore emotions, learn about grief, and find practical ways to cope and build resilience.

A compassionate approach, rooted in expertise
This new resource forms part of Dorothy House’s commitment to ensuring that children and young people across the UK feel understood, supported and empowered throughout their grief journey. It aligns with our wider Family Support Services, which include bereavement groups, one‑to‑one psychological support and specialist children’s services delivered by trained wellbeing practitioners.
