Non-pharmacological management of symptoms in Supportive, Palliative and End-of-Life Care, including breathlessness, anxiety, fatigue and pain, including practical sessions on the use of some of techniques covered during the day.
This full day session will look at the Management of Common Symptoms in Palliative and End of Life care using non-pharmacological techniques. These are evidence-based, non-invasive strategies used to help manage symptoms without the use of medication and commonly used in Supportive, Palliative and End-of-Life care.
The day will include some theory on basic anatomy, physiology and the non-pharmacological techniques that can be used and why they work, as well as a practical element, looking at scenarios from practice and how to select and use the techniques in different situations, with the opportunity to try them out and practice in a safe and supportive environment.

This session will be delivered by Louise Brown (MCSP).

She is passionate and knowledgeable not only about supporting patients in their own home, but also about alternative therapies, touch techniques and effective communication skills, having been trained in all of these.
