Come and be part of Scotland’s BIGGEST running festival! This ever-growing festival of running is now a major event in the Scottish sporting calendar.

The festival will take place over 25 and 26 May and is comprised of the following running events:

5k: 25 May 2024
10k: 25 May 2024
Half Marathon: 26 May 2024
Marathon: 26 May 2024

 

The full weekend of events attracts around 30,000 runners, with thousands more lining the course to support. There are several races on offer over two days including the marathon, half marathon, 10k, and 5k. There really is something for everyone, so why not make the most of the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Marathon

Fast & flat, this course was voted the fastest marathon in the UK by Runners World, ideal if it’s your first marathon or you are looking for a PB. The Edinburgh Marathon has sold out every year since 2008 and is the second largest marathon in the UK, behind only London.

The Half Marathon

Fast & flat, the Edinburgh Half Marathon follows the marathon course which was voted the fastest marathon in the UK by Runners World, ideal if it’s your first half marathon or you are looking for a PB. The Edinburgh Half Marathon has sold out every year since 2012 and is one of the largest half marathons in the UK.

The 10k

The 10K falls on the Saturday of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival weekend and is run in the stunning surroundings of Holyrood Park. Starting and finishing near Dynamic Earth, this route offers striking panoramic views of the city and Edinburgh Castle.

The 5k

The EMF 5K takes place on the Saturday and offers a picturesque route around Holyrood Park with stunning panoramic views of the city and Edinburgh Castle.

We have places available for this event via Run For Charity and you can register for the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k or 5k at the Edinburgh Running Festival here. By taking one of our places for this event via Run For Charity you are agreeing to raise the minimum sponsorship for the relevant distance. The minimum sponsorship amount for the Marathon is £1,000, the Half Marathon is £500, the 10k is £300 and the 5k is £180.
