Something exciting is coming from 12 May! We will be launching our new bus advertising campaign, reaching into our 800 square mile community with our message to consider your legacy. Following on from a very successful Hospice UK national campaign, we are continuing to spread our message of the importance of writing a will far and wide.

The importance of gifts in wills for charities

Not only is it vital to write a will to ensure your wishes are respected and to reduce the practical and emotional impact of your death upon your family, but each year we know that approximately one in five of our Dorothy House patients is cared for, thanks to gifts in wills. The generosity of those who have died and left a legacy to Dorothy House is an incredible testament to our care, but it is also an often hidden, but important income stream for us.

If you are considering writing a will for the first time, amending or updating an existing will, please consider leaving your local hospice, Dorothy House, a gift – no matter how large or small. A gift of even 1% of your estate, leaving 99% for your loved ones, will make a significant difference to us.

We want to be able to look after those who need us in the next generation and beyond.
