We are delighted to announce the opening of Dorothy house’s 26th retail shop, located in Midsomer Norton, 102 – 103 High Street. This exciting expansion, set to open its doors on 10 August at 10am, aims to enhance the charity’s reach in the community and will have a specialised focus on furniture sales.

A community shop

This will be the charity’s second shop in Midsomer Norton, and will be opened by dedicated volunteers and some of the organisation’s Nurse Specialists.

The shop will stock a wide range of quality pre-loved furniture, bric-a-brac, electricals, new goods, and Ubiety products, the charity’s own skin care range. They have also included space on the shop floor for the local community to access supplementary Dorothy House services and workshops, enabling the charity to reach more people in our community.

Maggie Crowe, Director of Patient and Family Services says:

“This is an opportunity for our patient and family services to be more accessible on the high street. The Midsomer Norton shop is in a prime location to give people in the community a better understanding of the services we offer and the support we can provide.”

Give a Shift for Dorothy House

The local and wider community are invited to the charity shop’s grand opening and to actively contribute to its success. Individuals and businesses are also warmly invited to contact the shop team with any furniture donations they may have. By donating pre-loved furniture, the community can play a crucial role in supporting Dorothy House’s mission and ensuring the availability of exceptional end-of-life care for patients and their loved ones.

Rowena Midgley, Head of Retail for Dorothy House, expressed her excitement about the new shop, stating,

“This new shop is a really exciting opportunity for Dorothy House. Not only do our shops provide a large part of our income, but they are also a physical place for our community to come and find out about the support Dorothy House can offer. Including a new flexible space within this shop will allow us to do this better.”

The shop’s trading hours will be:

Monday to Saturday 9:30am – 5pm
Sundays 10am – 4pm in Oct.
