This training combines both Pharmacological approaches and Non-pharmacological approaches to symptom management in palliative care, created for AHPs supporting people in their palliative care journey, or who have an interest in symptom management within palliative care.  

Course delivery

This session will be delivered by Geoff Hooper and Louise Brown.

As one of our practice educators, Louise works within the therapies team as a senior physiotherapist. She is passionate and knowledgeable not only about supporting patients in their own home, but also about alternative therapies, touch techniques and effective communication skills, having been trained in all of these. Her goal is for everyone to receive holistic care.

This course is suitable for any AHP or Registered Practitioner who supports people in their palliative care journey, or who have an interest in symptom management within palliative care.  

Course details

This training combines both Pharmacological approaches and Non-pharmacological approaches to symptom management in palliative care.  

There are two elements to this day based around patient scenarios, as this training combines both pharmacological approaches and non-pharmacological approaches to symptom management in palliative care.  Symptoms include Pain, Nausea and Vomiting, Restlessness and agitation, Breathlessness and Anxiety.
