Teen bereavement group – Max’s story

Max has been supported by our Family Services Team since 2020. He received therapy when his Mum, Laura was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma, and after her death joined our Teen Bereavement Group.

 “Dorothy House supported my Mum for almost two years at the end of her life, providing weekly care from their specialist palliative care nurses at home, and they’ve been there for me ever since.”

Last year Max took part in our Dragon Boat race day with a group of friends.

Getting on board with The Big Avon Paddle

For every £1 from the government, Dorothy House has to work hard to raise another £4 to fund our vital services. Getting on board for The Big Avon Paddle, means we can continue to support young people like Max. More information about cost of care can be found here.
