Dorothy House Midnight Walk raises over £80,000!

Dorothy House’s annual Midnight Walk took place on Saturday, 5 July and it was a fabulous night! The event was full of fun and laughter, but also special moments and poignant memories too.

Seeing hundreds of participants walking the beautiful city of Bath for Dorothy House, head boppers flashing in the dark night, all coming together to raise money for vital Hospice at Home care for our patients out in the community, was a very special and memorable sight.

425 wonderful people participated this year, choosing to walk either 5K or 10K around Bath, setting off from the Pavilion.

We also had 115 incredible volunteers helping us to make the night a huge success. We couldn’t have put on this event without their hard work, support and good humour. Their fundraising before the walk began raised a fantastic £2,875 alone! This was from the very popular glow in the dark merchandise, Mulberry handbag raffle, face glitter and tasty snacks.

I have seen the work Dorothy House do and the impact it has had, and is still having, on a family and I am so amazed. Having a friend with a terminal diagnosis has been heart breaking but there was a cathartic element to Saturday night.” – Participant.

The Dorothy House Midnight Walk has, so far, raised an amazing £82,184! This will pay for 3,398 hours of crucial Hospice at Home care, which makes a vital difference to patients and their families in our community.
