Join Dorothy House Hospice Care for a challenging but short walk in central Bath on Saturday 6th December! Choose from hot coals or Lego and conquer body and mind in this exciting fundraising challenge.
Taking place at the picturesque Beauford Square for an evening of thrills, with the Firewalk open to everyone over the age of 18 and the Lego Walk open to all ages. We know the walk isn’t always easy, both as part of this challenge and in life, but we’ll be there with you every step of the way.
Timings
Firewalk
With two Firewalk sessions taking place, the early walk takes place 3pm – 5:30pm and the evening walk takes place 6:00pm – 8:30pm.
Lego Walk
The Lego Walk will happen throughout the evening from 3pm, meaning anyone over 18 years old taking on the Firewalk can then watch any friends and family take on the Lego Walk before or after their session.
Registration fee and sponsorship
Registration for the Firewalk is £15 and £10 for the Lego Walk. Participants will be asked to raise as much as they can, with a suggestion of £200 for the Firewalk and £100 for the Lego Walk.
Shop Dorothy House Retail
Alongside the fantastic and brutal walking challenge, Dorothy House will also bring a pop-up retail shop to Beauford Square featuring a great selection of the incredible products you usually find in one of their 29 shops across the community.
Raising vital funds for end of life care in your community
Dorothy House Hospice Care delivers over 90% of their care out in the community it serves across Bath & North East Somerset and parts of Somerset and Wiltshire. For every £1 we get from the Government we need to raise an additional £4 through events like our Firewalk and Lego Walk.
- £78 could fund an expert counsellor to run a support group session for young adults with a life-limiting illness, helping them feel less alone.
- £123 could fund a morning of care provided by a Community Nurse Specialist, helping patients manage pain, discomfort, emotional distress and coordinating their care.
- £218 could fund a compassionate, skilled and experienced Hospice at Home Carer to provide care overnight, enabling a patient to stay at home at the end of their life.
Our Life Lines Campaign
Whatever happens, it’s reassuring to know that Dorothy House is there for you and your family, a dependable lifeline when things get tough. Because Dorothy House isn’t just a place or collection of services.
But we need your help. Without the generous support of our communities, we can’t continue to offer these vital lifelines.
Our Life Lines campaign aims to raise £500K before the end of the year to ensure that care, compassion, and connection are always there—when and where people need it most.
Help write the next lines with us – together, we can keep the story going.
