Brews and dance moves – Jane’s Coffee Morning
Whether you’re a seasoned baker or just a fan of good company, coffee and cake, Dorothy House Coffee Mornings are the sweet fundraisers making a big difference!
Gathering around the table with friends and family over a warm cuppa and a slice of something nice is always a feel-good way to spend a morning, but what if you could transform your coffee catch ups into something that extra bit more special?
With a Dorothy House Coffee Morning, not only can you connect with loved ones, but it’s an opportunity to do something meaningful for your local community. Whether you choose to deep dive into your baking cupboard or stick to shop-bought snacks, you’re always onto a winner when raising vital funds for end of life care.

Jane certainly won over her friends and family with her recent Dorothy House Coffee Morning. Raising an incredible £337 for the Hospice, Jane’s Coffee Morning took a joyful turn when they swapped doughnuts and Devil cake for their dancing shoes:
“It was a great, fun event which I thoroughly enjoyed hosting. The morning started around 11am when friends, family and neighbours came along. Everyone was so supportive and were very generous in giving to such a wonderful charity.
I spent a lot of time talking about Dorothy House and all the wonderful things you do, even mentioned upcoming events. The day/evening ended with a bit of a disco in the garden (sorry neighbours) with family who had helped out all day, especially my daughters and my husband who set up all the garden furniture when we realised what a lovely sunny day we were going to have. I will definitely be hosting another one as I thoroughly enjoyed my special day.”

Every penny counts!
No donation is too small, and just like Jane, you can host your Coffee Morning your way, whether that’s at home, at work or in the community. Every penny supports the Hospice to continue to provide personalised palliative and end of life care to families across BaNES and parts of Somerset and Wiltshire.
£245 could fund a full shift of care on our Inpatient Unit, so a person can receive essential care, symptom control and pain relief.
£375 could fund two full shifts, one during the day and one during the night delivered at a patient’s home, by a compassionate, skilled and experienced Hospice at Home Carer. Providing care, essential respite to families, enabling a person to stay in the comfort of their own home at the end of their life.
£620 could fund an amazing 20 hours of 1:1 specialist counselling, helping patients, families, carers and children to cope with the emotional and psychological impact of illness, dying, death, and bereavement.
