Fixfest with Dorothy House 2026

On Saturday 10 October from 10am-4pm, we are thrilled to partner with BRLSI and Share & Repair Bath to help you repair, reuse, restyle and rethink the way we consume.

Whether you’re an experienced mender, a curious beginner or simply looking for a fun day out, FixFest has something for everyone.

Enjoy a family-friendly day packed with hands-on workshops, repair sessions, inspiring talks and creative activities, many of which are completely free. All proceeds from Fixfest workshops and donations go to support the charities involved, including Dorothy House.

There will be rails of preloved Dorothy House clothing, Threads for Care collections and lots of fantastic workshops to participate in, including ones facilitated by the Hospice:

Dorothy House Scrunchie Workshop

Hair scrunchies are a real go-to essential for those with long hair, but why should they be made from new virgin materials when there is already so much amazing fabric destined for landfill? Our workshop offers you the chance to learn how to make your own hair scrunchies using pre-existing materials (yours or ours!). Experiment with colours, textures and embellishments to create as many scrunchies as you can in the time! Great for novice and beginner machine sewers as hand operated sewing machines will be used. (All equipment and materials provided).

Workshops at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

Dorothy House Fashion Doctors

Refresh your wardrobe with expert styling advice from our Ambassador and Bath in Fashion gurus Lizzie Heffer and Sarah Baker. Discover how to shop charity stores with confidence and learn clever alterations and styling tricks to make your clothes uniquely yours. Fun and free!

Dorothy House Bunting Workshops

What better way to decorate for those special occasions than with bunting? This workshop offers you the opportunity to make your very own length of reusable bunting from preloved fabric such as clothing and upholstery. You can choose from our range of pre-loved fabrics or bring your own to create your masterpiece! Great for novice and beginner machine sewers as hand operated sewing machines will be used.

Workshops at 10am, 12pm and 2pm.

(All equipment and materials provided with the option to bring your own preloved fabrics to use too.)
