Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy
Our physiotherapists and occupational therapists work closely together to support patients and their families to live well and achieve things that are important to them. For many people, this means staying as independent as possible and maintaining a sense of normality. Support offered by the team includes:
- Managing symptoms, including fatigue, breathlessness, anxiety, pain and disturbed sleep.
- Palliative rehabilitation.
- Relaxation therapy.
Physiotherapists focus on physical movement and function, and can offer additional support including mobility assessment, exercise therapy and hydrotherapy.
Occupational therapists focus on enabling people to engage in meaningful activities, roles and routines. Your occupational therapist can offer advice about how to carry out activities, and may arrange for the provision of equipment and adaptations for your home.
